       Akdeniz Montessori School aims to be a pioneering institution primarily in the Mediterranean Region, Mersin and Turkey with its distinctive practices. Our school, with its Montessori approach, offers a rich English language acquisition program with mother tongue for children aged 18-69 months. In the program, the applications of alternative approaches that put the child in the foreground and the environment necessary for the healthy implementation of Montessori pedagogy are at the forefront.

 

      Our Founder Filiz Budur is a graduate of METU Mathematics Department. After teaching mathematics at İçel Anatolian High School and colleges in Mersin for 20 years, she worked as a manager in a private school she founded for 17 years. He continues to contribute to this field as the founder of Akdeniz Montessori with his efforts and experiences in the field of education in Mersin, and continues to convey his experiences.

                                                       

     Akdeniz Montessori School Principal A. Çiğdem Budur; after graduating from the Department of Mathematics Teaching at Istanbul University, she completed his Master's program in Educational Administration and Supervision at Istanbul University and received his specialization in Educational Sciences. During this period she continued her profession as a mathematics teacher at Istanbul Açı Schools, where child-centered education is at the forefront. As a result of her interest in Alternative Education Approaches, she turned to pre-school studies and completed her second undergraduate degree in teaching by completing the Department of Preschool Teaching at Mersin University. Our principle, who has different studies on alternative education applications, has been involved in the development of the Primary School Mathematics Montessori Program, and has carried out Montessori applications in primary and pre-school. Ayşe Çiğdem Budur also runs the Montessori program at Akdeniz Montessori.

     Our English Teacher Serdar; after completing his high school education at Tarsus American College, and then his first undergraduate degree in ITU Aeronautical Engineering, he worked as an Aircraft Engineer in Istanbul, and returned to Mersin with his wife, completing his second undergraduate degree from Mersin University and started teaching English.  In our English lessons given to all students every day, studies are carried out in accordance with the Montessori Approach, and songs and sharing activities are emphasized.
